Mallory and Nigel are Pittsburgh transplants, but they’ve fallen in love with this city. They really wanted their Pittsburgh engagement photos to shout their love for their new home. What better way to share that love than with a rooftop overlooking downtown and the iconic yellow bridges on the North Shore!

There are a handful of great locations in the city, but my favorite is this rooftop downtown. You get a great view of the Pittsburgh skyline, and the lighting there is always top-tier! It’s a short walk from the Allegheny County Courthouse, so if you’re eloping there, you can almost guarantee that I will be bringing you over to this spot!

There’s really not a square inch of the rooftop that doesn’t make for a perfect photo spot—even with the skyline behind you, the building surrounding the parking garage creates an equally as stunning background without the skyline being the main focus.

I could easily spend the entire length of a Pittsburgh engagement session on this rooftop, especially with a couple as great in front of the camera as Mallory and Nigel are!

When you think of Pittsburgh, you immediately think of the iconic yellow bridges in the North Shore! I always tell my couples to park over by Stage AE, meet me down on the riverwalk, and we can get that Pittsburgh skyline behind you from a different angle.

The bridges themselves are the perfect backdrop, especially if you’re willing to get extra creative with some poses.

The North Shore in general, but specifically the bridges are always such a perfect spot for Pittsburgh engagement photos, even if you need to play a couple games of chicken to get a shot right in the middle of the bridge.
